I don’t know about you, but sometimes I just feel like the world has become inundated by excess. Whether related to fashion, beauty, or health and wellness, it seems everyone is always pushing the next trend or fad or “it” thing to try. I am supposed to be drinking fresh-pressed celery juice every morning; topping my all-organic, photo-worthy smoothies with bee pollen; and eating everything organic. First there was the Atkins diet, then the South Beach diet…now we’ve moved on to the Keto diet and intermittent fasting. Resources are infinite, “experts” are everywhere, and every few months new research comes along and discredits what was previously deemed healthy. Instagram influencers are continuously pushing launches and a new outfit for every occasion. I scroll my feed to see five different girls wearing the exact same sweater, which I just have to scoop up while it’s on sale.
Now don’t get me wrong, I recognize that a lot of people make this sort of thing their livelihood, and I respect the HECK out of the hustle. And to be fair, there are quite a few influencers, bloggers, and vloggers who have earned my trust and offered me invaluable information via their content. However, as a twenty-something out here just trying to live her best life—on a budget, mind you—all of it can sometimes just feel, well, friggen overwhelming.
That’s why I wanted to create a space where people feel encouraged, not influenced. The foundation of Meal Prepping In Heels is built on three simple mantras: (1) fashion should be fun, (2) healthy doesn’t need to be hard, and (3) clean eating doesn’t need to be complicated. Linking these three philosophies is the core belief that looking and feeling your best doesn’t mean spending a ton of money. My goal is to offer my readers quality content that is meant to inform but never alienate. To me, success is motivating someone to wear a certain piece of clothing in a new way, try a new recipe (because I promise they will always be easy), or replace a current indulgence with a healthier option every now and then.
I’m so glad you stumbled across my little corner of the internet, and I hope my mission resonates with you. I’d love for you to check out my About page to get to know me a little bit better and then take a peruse around my posts.
Here’s to always keeping it fresh, my friends.
